Red Lentils Dahl


Rinse the lentils several times under a stream of running water. In a large pan, heat a drizzle of olive oil and brown the chopped onion.

 Then add the crushed garlic and grated ginger. Now add the curry, turmeric, chili and cumin and cook for 1-2 minutes more. Pour the red lentils and the coconut milk, keeping two spoons aside. 

After 5 minutes add the water and bring to boil. Dissolve a spoonful of tomato paste. 

Cook for 15 minutes until the lentils are soft and stirring occasionally. Serve and decorate with a teaspoon of coconut milk and chopped parsley.

400g peeled red lentils

1 Tbsp coconut milk

1 garlic clove

1 teaspoon curry 

Half a golden onion

1 teaspoon cumin powder

1 teaspoon turmeric powder

A pinch of fresh minced ginger

1 Tbsp olive oil

1 l water

1 pinch salt

1 pinch chili pepper

1 pinch parsley 

1 Tbsp tomato paste
